Luke Foster
League clubs linked with Oxford's Foster
Oxford United supporters will have cause for concern after it emerged that Coventry City and Cardiff City have been linked with a move for Supporters' and Players' Player of the Year, Luke Foster.
The versatile defender has come to the attention of Football League clubs after being presented with both the Buildbase 'Players Player of the Year' and the Andrew Knapton 'Supporters Player of the Year' trophy earlier in the week.
Foster started the campaign on the fringes of the Oxford starting eleven and earned a regular starting berth with some superb performances.
"I wasn't in the team at the start of the season but was determined to do everything I could when I got my chance, and that seems to have paid off," Foster told his club's official website.
U's boss Darren Patterson was delighted to see Foster scoop the two awards in midweek and believes that Foster was more than deserving of the accolades.
Patterson said: "I'd have given Luke two votes! I think if he progresses as he has done then the sky's the limit.
"Off the field he is living his life so much more professionally.
"He is listening and learning and if he keeps going as he is then my phone will be red hot."
