Saunders heaps praise on players
Wrexham boss Dean Saunders has heaped praise on his charges after their 3-1 win against Altrincham on Saturday.
The Dragons put in an impressive display to beat the Robins on their own turf and Saunders was delighted to get back to action after a long break due to inclement weather.
"We've had eight games called off and in the end it was nice to play. We got off to a great start and there were lots of good performances out there today. But even at 3-0 up I didn't feel 100% safe," he told WalesOnline.
However, the former Liverpool striker admitted that he was left disappointed with the late goal which his side conceded.
"We've had 16 clean sheets and I was disappointed we didn't add to that today," he added.
"Football can come back and bite you so I was hoping it wasn't going to be one of those (situations) when they score three goals in five minutes.
"I thought we played really well in the first half and we looked like a team.
"Now we have a bit of confidence to take it on. The centre forward nicked a goal after three minutes, then he made the second goal and they all started playing better.
"I'm hoping it spreads right through the camp and that they all gain a bit of confidence. Sometimes that happens and I'm hoping it will happen to us."
