Holmes considers his futureForest Green Rovers and Altrincham have expressed an interest in former Burton Albion midfielder Danny Holmes.
The 22-year-old midfielder was released by Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido as he prepares his title-winning side for League Two.
Holmes told the Burton Mail: "I was half expecting I would not be offered a new contract because I didn't play much last season.
"I'd geared myself up for being told the worst.
"It's still a disappointment because, as a Burton lad, I would have loved to play in the League with my home-town club, but that's football.
"I've just got to concentrate now on getting myself fixed up with a new club, hopefully in the Blue Square Premier."
Forest Green manager Jim Harvey has already made contact with Holmes while Altrincham have made contact with the player's agent.
Holmes contined: "I'm quite encouraged by the interest that's been already been shown in me because it's still early days.
"It's nice that Forest Green and Altrincham have already expressed an interest and I'm also hoping to speak to Tamworth, who have just got promotion to Blue Square Premier." Posted: Sunday , May 24, 2009 more Burton Albion
