Mark Cooper
Cooper flattered by Brewers link
Kettering Town manager Mark Cooper has cooled speculation linking him with the Burton Albion hotseat by insisting he knows nothing of the claims.
With Roy McFarland turning down the opportunity to lead the Brewers on a permanent basis, the promoted club have begun their search for a new boss.
Cooper has been named as one of the top candidates to guide Albion during their first year in League Two, but according to the Poppies mentor, no formal contact has been made with him.
He does however admit that he is flattered by the Pirelli Stadium link.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "I haven't heard anything about that to be honest.
"And while that is the case I am just going to concentrate on my job here.
"Until the chairman comes along and tells me another club wants to speak with me then I have a job to be getting on with.
"Of course, it's always flattering to be linked with clubs of a higher level and Burton are now a Football League club.
"But I certainly haven't had anyone talking to me about it."
