Brewers searching for a new manager
Blue Square Premier champions Burton Albion have begun their search for a new manager following talks with caretaker manager Roy McFarland.
McFarland was tempted out of retirement by the Brewers after Nigel Clough took up the vacant manager's post at Derby County in January.
However, he has declined the chance to take up the managerial reins on a full-time basis at the Pirelli Stadium next season after talks with chairman Ben Robinson in midweek.
Robinson told the club's official website: "I've really enjoyed working with Roy, someone I have known for over 30 years and for whom I have the utmost respect.
"It was always going to be difficult for anyone to come in and take over from Nigel Clough in those circumstances but Roy came in and helped get us over that line and achieve promotion.
"Burton Albion will always be grateful for everything that Roy has done for this club in the time that he has been with us."
