Giles parts ways with Crawley

Blue Square Premier side Crawley Town have revealed that defender Chris Giles has left the club after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old has struggled to break into Crawley's first team as various injuries have kept him on the sideliens for exteneded periods since he joined the club in July, 2008.

Crawley manager Steve Evans told the club's official website: "Chris has been very unfortunate with injuries since he joined us back in 2008.

"I can assure everyone that he was as frustrated as us but he now gets the chance to move on and undertake a fresh challenge.

"The lad is almost fit now and of course we all wish him good luck."
