Securing a spot in the Blue Square Premier play-offs is still well within York's grasp after they engineered a narrow victory over promotion rivals Exeter.

Martyn Woolford put the home side ahead with a well struck effort before Daniel Parslow made it 2-0 as Woolford turned provider with a fine delivery from a corner.

Steve Basham pulled one back for the visitors before Onome Sodje put the tie beyond doubt with a skillful finish.

Richard Logan's looping header ensured that the final minutes were packed with drama and tension but York held on to clinch a potentially vital win.
