Kidderminster duo pen new deals
Kidderminster Harriers have revealed that winger Brian Smikle and striker Matthew Barnes-Homer have both penned new deals at Aggborough Stadium.
22-year-old Smikle has put pen-to-paper on a one-year contract and will look to cement his place in the first team next season.
"I'm ever so glad to be here and have a new deal," he told the club's official website.
"I'm looking forward to getting started on the new season and I'm definitely looking forward to fighting for a starting place more regularly and get more starts in the team."
Smikle joined the Harriers in the summer of 2006 following his release by West Bromwich Albion and has gone on to make 68 appearances.
Barnes-Homer has also penned a deal that will keep him at Kidderminster until the end of the 2008-09 season.
"The last three months of the season were great for us as a team and great for me personally," Barnes-Homer revealed.
"Hopefully we can have a good pre-season and start off really well.
"I want to work even harder this season, and on the training ground and hopefully get some more goals."
Meanwhile, manager Mark Yates has decided to part ways with out-of-contract defender Gavin Hurren.
"There were one or two things we had left to talk about and in the end it was decided it was best for all parties if Gavin goes to play football elsewhere," Yates told his club's official website.
"I'd like to thank him for his efforts during his time with us, and we all wish him the best for his future career."
Hurren joined the club in the summer of 2005 and made 101 appearances in three seasons, scoring eight goals in the process.
