Adam Murray
Woking 0-2 Oxford United
Oxford United boosted their play-off hopes with a 2-0 victory over Woking at the Kingfield Sports Ground on Monday afternoon.
The visitors started like a house on fire and grabbed the lead after just five minutes.
Adam Murray, who has become something of a wizard when it comes to dead ball situations, found the back of the net with a brilliant effort from a free kick.
That goal sent the travelling fans, who outnumbered the home supporters, into raptures.
The U's then doubled their lead on 18 minutes with another superb goal.
Simon Clist hit a wonderful volley from the edge of the area into the back of the net, once again sending the away fans into joyous cries not dissimilar to that seen at the Rio Carnival.
With the early damage seemingly securing the three points, the visitors took their foot off the pedal.
This allowed the Cards into the game, but they were unable to penetrate the opposing defence, allowing United to cruise to a vital three-point haul.
The victory moves Oxford to within three points of the play-off places, while Woking sit outside of the relegation places on goal difference.
