FA rejects Halifax's appeal
Halifax Town AFC's last attempt to remain in the Blue Square Premier next season has failed.
The Shaymen finished 20th in the 2007/08 season and faced huge financial constraints. They failed to obtain a CVA from their creditors which would have kept them in administration. It cost them dearly and they were demoted two divisions.
The club fought back and lodged an appeal to the Football Association, hoping to be spared and be placed in Blue Square North instead.
The FA appeals committee rejected Halifax's request on Wednesday and now Chris Wilder's team is set to play in the Unibond Premier Division.
