Carden integral to Ling's plans

Cambridge United manager Paul Carden admits his tactics weigh heavily on the availability of skipper Paul Carden.

Carden is doubtful for the clash with Crawley Town on Saturday afternoon and if he is not able to feature, then Ling will need to think again about the shape of his side.

Ling told Cambridge News: "Paul is no more than 50-50 at the moment and much of how we decide to play will depend on whether he can play or not."

The U's have struggled this season and their play-off aspirations now look out of reach.
