Cambridge deny Gleeson rumours
Cambridge United's director of football Jez George has rubbished rumours that defender Dan Gleeson will be leaving the club in the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old centre-half has been linked with a move to Northampton Town recently and is close to making a comeback from a broken nose.
Local rivals Histon have also revealed their interest in three of United's players, including Gleeson.
George told Cambridge News: We've had no contact from any club whatsoever.
"The last thing we heard involving Gleese was the story in the News when Histon said they wanted three of our players.
"We've heard from no-one about him and we wouldn't encourage contact from any other club.
"He's an important player for us and one we're anxious to get back fit."
