Baldwin to join Cambridge
Former Histon chairman Gareth Baldwin is set to join rivals Cambridge United as a director.
U's chairman Paul Barry has said Baldwin, who left the club, will take up his post as soon as he has resolved shareholding issues with the Stutes.
Prior to the start of Monday's annual meeting Barry told Cambridge officials: "I find Gareth to be a very enigmatic and positive personality and he's been a life-long fan of this club.
"He's looking forward to joining the club and we've invited him to join the board.
"He'll be working very closely with us, looking to generate income and to increase our off-field activities.
"We all know what he's done across the A14 and I'm a great admirer of his. I'm looking forward to working with him.
"We've put a brake on spending and commercial revenue is up this year and we've got to push it further next year. Having Gareth Baldwin should help kick-start that."
