Iyseden Christie
Tamworth 1-0 Gateshead
Iyseden Christie scored the only goal of the game as Tamwroth edged Gateshead 1-0 at the Lamb Ground on Tuesday evening.
In an evenly matched contest both side's squandered chances to grab the advantage in the first-half.
Michael Wylde came within inches of giving the hosts the lead when he was allowed a free header in the area, but he failed to find the target as he nodded the ball wide.
But the home outfit began the second period stronger and they were soon rewarded for their efforts when Christie rose to head home a Tom Shaw corner just before the hour-mark.
Christie tried his luck again a few minutes later with a shot from 30 yards, but this time his effort sailed over the crossbar.
Sebastian Lake-Gaskin came close to wrapping up the three points for the Lambs with the clock winding down, but he was denied by the post. In the end it didn't matter as Gary Mills' charges claimed the victory.
