Buckle: Wembley pitch will aid us
Torquay United manager Paul Buckle is confident the freshly relaid Wembley pitch will suit the Gulls' style of play.
The newly laid pitch came through it's first test last weekend when the stadium hosted the FA Trophy final.
The FA spent a whopping £80,000 to relay and avert any future problems for the impending end of season play-offs and the FA Cup final after the turf came in for much criticism following the recent FA Cup semi-finals between Chelsea and Arsenal and then Manchester United v Everton.
However, commenting on the playing surface for Saturday's winner takes all play-off final with Cambridge this weekend, United boss Buckle revealed : "The pitch looked very good, and the ball moved very well on it."
"When a new pitch goes down, there are often a few problems. But it didn't rip too much on Saturday, it played very well - and it should be in even better condition come Sunday. It will have bedded in a bit more. I think it's going to help both teams."
