Salisbury 1-1 Rushden

Nick Holmes' Salisbury City were held to a draw by a determined Rushden & Diamonds side at Raymond McEnhill Stadium with both sides having a man sent off in the second half.

The home side came close to opening their account in the 34th minute but Curtis Woodhouse somehow missed the target with his header from six yards out.

They finally got the breakthrough they were looking for just after the break when Jon Challinor drilled a shot into the bottom-right corner from 18 yards.

The game took a turn for the worst when Salisbury's Michael Fowler fouled Woodhouse and the former boxer retaliated, leading to him and Fowler being showed the red card.

With the match heading into injury time, Marvin Brown latched onto a Robbie Matthews header and placed his shot in the right-hand corner to earn his side a share of the spoils.
