Histon 1-2 Farsley CelticDamien Reeves turned from villain to hero at the Glassworld Stadium on Saturday as Farsley Celtic overcame Histon in an entertaining Blue Square Premier encounter.
Reeves spectacularly missed a penalty before making amends for his error by opening the scoring and then grabbing a winner only minutes after Histon had equalised.
The ref had no hesitation in awarding a spot kick to the visitors after 40 minutes as Patrick Ada brought down Simeon Bambrook in the box but Reeves smashed the ball against the crossbar to the relief of the home side.
Reeves' luck was to improve in the second half, however, as he smashed home from 18 yards after James Knowles had found the striker with a cross-field pass from the right-hand side of the pitch.
Jamie Barker took his chance well, barely 10 minutes later as he calmly slotted past a despairing Mark Wilberforce to equalise for the home side but it was to be Reeves' day as he grabbed his second goal with a well-hit volley into the top left corner of Mark Osborn's goal.
