Aldershot 5-0 NorthwichGary Waddock's Aldershot Town claimed pole position on the blue Square Premier table on Saturday with a convincing victory over rock-bottom Northwich Victoria.
The game offered up no less than five goals with the visitors unable to break down the hosts' solid defence at Recreation Ground.
Rhys Day opened for the hosts after 28 minutes with a well-placed header and Scott Davies doubled their lead 10 minutes later with a good finish from 18 yards out.
Davies completed his brace on the hour mark with another 18-yard effort, followed by a headed John Grant goal just three minutes later.
With the final whistle looming in injury time, Rob Elvins completed the thrashing after converting a Ricky Newman assist pass at the left-hand side of the six-yard box.
