Weymouth 1-0 Stevenage

Relegation-threatened Weymouth did their chances of survival no harm on Saturday after recording a narrow over Stevenage Borough.

The solitary goal came in the first half and it was a sublime bit of skill which secured the lead for the Terras.

Paolo Vernazza found himself in some space on the right channel and blasted a left-footed shot into the roof of the net form 30 yards out.

Weymouth had a golden opportunity to double their advantage in the 49th minute but Tony Bedeau's powerful header was parried by Stevenage goalkeeper Alan Julian.
