Boro boss Mark Stimson Stevenage 3-1 AldershotStevenage Borough picked up another home win on Saturday afternoon with an assured performance against fellow high-flyers Aldershot Town.
The hosts claimed the lead after 25 minutes when Aldershot's Dave Winfield put the ball in his own net as he tried to cut out a Mark Molesley cross.
Boro were awarded a penalty just before the break when Dave Winfield fouled Mitchell Cole in the area and Mark Arber slotted home the resulting spot kick to make it 2-0.
The second half saw both sides come out fired up and Stevenage made it 3-0 virtually from the kick-off thanks to Craig Dobson.
Aldershot were awarded a penalty one minute later and Rhys Day calmly placed his shot in the bottom-right corner.
The home side earned another penalty on 80 minutes when Nikki Bull was adjudged to have fouled Stevenage's Mitchell Cole but the goalkeeper redeemed himself by saving the resulting effort.
