Forest Green moved to within four points of a play-off place thanks to Alex Lawless' second half goal against Crawley.

Stuart Fleetwood and Darren Jones both missed chances for the hosts, while Crawley's Jon-Paul Pittman was only denied by a fine save from Ryan Robinson.

Fleetwood put the ball in the back of the net early in the second half only to be denied by trhe offside flag before Lawless struck from 20 yards.

On 88 minutes Chris Giles squandered the chance to draw Crawley level when he shot over the bar from point blank range.
