York 2-3 WokingYork City's second-half capitulation allowed visitors Woking to rally back from an early deficit and collect all three points at KitKat Crescent.
The match was certainly not short on action or controversy after the hosts had claimed the lead through Onome Sodje's close range finish in the third minute.
The Cardinals battled their way back just minutes before the half-time whistle as Jason Norville headed in a Marvin Morgan cross at the right-hand side of the six-yard box.
The Minstermen reclaimed the lead in the 57th minute when Sodje popped up again to tap in from close range.
However, the home side lost their grip on the match soon after as Darren Craddock received his marching orders for a professional foul on Woking's Marvin Morgan.
Guiseppe Sole slotted home the resulting spot kick to level the scores and netted with another penalty just six minutes later when York's Tom Evans was shown a red card for a foul on Morgan.
The home supporters were left cursing on the sidelines after Stuart Elliott became the third York player to receive his marching orders in the 80th minute.
With the hosts reduced to eight men, Woking pushed their numerical advantage but they just couldn't manage to break down their opponents again.
