Grays Athletic 0-2 Exeter

Two goals inside the first half-hour handed Exeter a valuable away victory at the expense of Grays Athletic at the New Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors started the match in a red-hot manner, but could only make their dominance count in the 22nd minute.

Wayne Carlisle stole in ahead of the home defence to fire Dean Moxey's dangerous cross into the back of the net from 12 yards out.

The second, and ultimate killer goal, came just seven minutes after the first thanks to some impressive team play.

Adam Stansfield picked up the ball after some great midfield play before finishing from close range with a typical poachers strike.

The second-half was all Exeter and the away side will feel aggrieved not to have extended their lead after dominating large chunks of the half.
