Crawley 2-1 Cambridge UtdCambridge United's promotion play-off credentials took a knocking on Tuesday evening after they slipped to a defeat at the hands of mid-table Crawley Town.
The Red Devils claimed the lead after 12 minutes when Kevin James headed in at the right-hand side of the six-yard box.
Cambridge quickly fashioned a reply and restored parity just seven minutes later as Lee Boylan headed a Mark Convery corner kick in at the right-hand side of six-yard box.
Crawley reclaimed the lead in the 57th minute and it was a superb bit of skill that saw Dannie Bulman volley a right-footed effort into the bottom-left of goal from 18 yards out.
The U's almost drew level again later on but Lee Boylan saw his 12-yard effort hit the crossbar and go out of play.
