Martyn Woolford Crewe linked with York winger WoolfordYork City winger Martyn Woolford has been in red-hot form this season and his performances have attracted the interest of Crewe Alexandra's director of football, Dario Gradi.
Gradi was present at York's 3-2 home defeat to Woking on Saturday afternoon and has also seen Woolford in action earlier in the campaign.
The former Frickley winger was installed in a free role behind the front pairing and didn't have the best of games.
"Martyn Woolford got in some fantastic positions during the first half, but gave the ball away," York manager Colin Walker told the York Press.
"I don't want to ridicule him because he's had a fantastic season for us, but he was getting in the same areas where he did ever so well against Stafford on Tuesday and didn't seem to grasp it."
If Gradi wishes to follow up on his interest in Woolford, he will have to stump up a significant transfer fee, as the 16-goal midfielder is contracted to the club until the summer of 2009.
