Chris Hope Rushden & Diamonds 1-1 YorkRushden & Diamonds and York City could not find a winner between them as their mid-table clash at Nene Park on Saturday afternoon ended in a 1-1 draw.
The home side completely dominated the fixture and will be extremely disappointed not to have claimed the three-points.
And what was even more disappointing for the Diamonds was the manner in which they conceded the opening goal.
Richard Brodie capitlised on some indecisive defending to tap in a Ben Purkiss cross from close range in the 55th minute.
But the home side did not let that setback pull them down as they hit back just five minutes later.
Chris Hope rose highest to head a Marcus Kelly free-kick into the back of the net from 12 yards out.
The goal ensured that the home side took something from the game, but this match will go down as a missed opportunity when they review their season.
