York boss Billy McEwan York City 1-4 HistonYork City's recent revival was blown off-course following a crushing defeat against Histon at KitKat Crescent on Saturday afternoon.
The Minstermen went ahead in the 29th minute when midfielder Nicky Wroe fired in after new signing Daniel McBreen's shot had been parried by keeper Danny Naisbitt.
Histon equalised two minutes before the interval courtesy of a superb volley by Antonio Murray from Erkan Okay's cross.
Nathaniel Knight-Percival was then denied by an excellent 54th minute save by Tom Evans, before heading in at the far post from John Kennedy's cross sixty seconds later.
York midfielder Stuart Elliott twice went close from distance, before the visitors wrapped up the points when substitute Daniel Wright headed in at the far post from Okay's 86th minute cross.
Histon striker Cliff Akurang then seized upon Elliott's misplaced backpass and slotted the ball past keeper Evans in added time.
