Chris Wilder Wilder considered Halifax exitChris Wilder has admitted he was on the verge of quitting as Halifax boss due to increased criticism from a faction of the club's supporters.
The Shaymen secured their status in the Blue Square Premier despite going down 2-1 to Stevenage after Altrincham were held to a draw by Weymouth.
And following a turbulent season that saw Wilder suffer fan abuse on several occasions, the mentor admitted he intended ending his six-year tenure at the club.
He told the Halifax Courier: "Of course I have considered leaving. And I think there are some people who would have been glad if I had walked away.
"There will be people now saying it is time for a change but I have a year left on my contract. Why should I walk away?
"It is with me 24-7.I have played the cards I have been dealt and have done it to the best of my ability.
"People will have an opinion on that whether it is good enough or not." Posted: Wednesday, April 30, 2008 more Top Stories
