Abbey Stadium Cambridge Utd 1-1 EbbsfleetEbbsfleet were heading top of the table on Monday until Scott Rendell struck in stoppage time to earn Cambridge United a share of the spoils.
The result maintained Jimmy Quinn's side's unbeaten start to the campaign and also prevented Fleet from reaching the Blue Square Premier summit.
The home side applied pressure to the visiting goalkeeper's goal, with Gavin Hoyte hitting the crossbar bar from 35 yards and Lee Boylan being denied by Scott Tynan.
Chukki Eribenne then played in Luke Moore, who put Fleet ahead just before half-time when he found the back of the net with a 20-yard strike.
Both sides were guilty of profligate finishing and missed several chances but Rendell was on hand when it counted to head home Michael Hyem's cross to equalise.
