Torquay 1-2 Aldershot

Aldershot tightened their grip on the Blue Square Premier title after Scott Davies' excellent injury time strike secured a win over top-of-the-table rivals Torquay.

A bungle by Mikkel Anderson and Mark Ellis saw the Shots take a lead as Daniel Hylton pounced.

But Torquay were determined to level matters and did so after Lee Mansell's cross was pounded in by Lee Phillips.

But the Shots were to have the last word as Junior Mendes set Davies up to score a dramatic winner.

The result leaves Torquay trailing the visitors by 11 points in the title race and with Cambridge United and Stevenage nipping at their heals, Torquay must turn their attention to securing second spot.
